This November the Regional Library “Lyuben Karavelov” in Rousse, Bulgaria, hosted more than 200 children and their teachers, guests and visitors who came to see the unique Financial Literacy Theater performance “Money Carousel”. The library’s involvement in the event is another step in its policy to support activities related to the development of better financial literacy of the Bulgarian citizens.
The play is part of the financial literacy program “Money and Other Important Things”, developed and implemented by the Financial Literacy Initiative Foundation. It is an innovative educational approach based on the concept of learning through drama. The “Money Carousel” was presented by the students of Vratza school “Kozma Trichkov” as part of the national tour.

FINLIT project was presented at the Annual library forum of Global libraries network in Bulgaria 6-8 November, 2019. The results of the mapping report and survey on financial education programs, the preliminary version of the project platform and upcoming activities were key points in the presentation of Bulgarian project coordinator Mrs Elka Zlateva.

Joint staff training event was organized in July 2019 as part of the training activities of the FINLIT project. Four training sessions and two study visits were part of the program:
Training session 1 - Content and methodology
Training session 2 - Educators and tools
Training session 3 - Target groups
Training session 4 - Online educational resources
Study visit 1 - Grodzisk Mazowiecki Library - meeting with librarians providing financial education to adults in the frame of the FRSI project “About finances… in the library, followed by group discussion - how the commune public library in small towns work?
Study visit 2 - Warsaiversity Library followed by group discussion on targeting library services to different groups needs.
